2 Timothy 4:3-5 King James Version (KJV)
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
2 Timothy 4:3-5 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
3 For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new. 4 They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But as for you, be serious about everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

3 The time will come where people seek out what they want to hear and put up with other teaching, this is referring to the way the church will be, the world doesn’t put up with sound doctrine. Do we listen because this teacher makes us feel good or because he shares the truth?
4 People often would rather follow lies that are delivered well and make them feel good then to follow the truth which challenges the way they live.
5 We as Christians should all be doing this but this is certainly for ministers. It is often easy to give up but we as Christians have to keep serving and living for the Lord.
