2 Timothy 1:6-8 King James Version (KJV)
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
2 Timothy 1:6-8
ECB 6 for which cause I remind you to refire the charisma of Elohim within you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For Elohim gives us not the spirit of cowardice; but of dynamis and of love and of a sound mind. 8 So neither shame of the witness of our Adonay, nor of me his prisoner: but co-suffer in the evangelism according to the dynamis of Elohim;
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
6 We are all called to serve God in one or another but Timothy was set apart as a minister. Paul wanted him to spread the fire that he had been given by the Lord and allows to go to all the believers, we should share our fire, and if we don’t have a fire then we need to allow the Lord to fix that.
7 God gave us the Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit does not cause us to fear where He leads us but allows us to trust, any fear comes from self. The Spirit gives us power to do, He works thru us by love and gives us good judgment so we don’t fall for lies or be stumbled.
8 Nothing should hold us back from serving, yet often times we are not sharing Jesus with them. Paul was in prison so what he could do was limited. Sometimes following Christ will lead us to suffer but He suffered for us so it should be our honor to suffer in return for Him but yet we are not sharing, this is something we should change.
