14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

14 Alexander the coppersmith did great harm to me. The Lord will repay him according to his works. 15 Watch out for him yourself because he strongly opposed our words.

14 It is debated who Alexander was, it has been said he followed Paul around trying to give him a bad name. It has been said that he was the man who had Paul arrested but we aren’t sure. What is clear is Paul was hurt by him but is trusting the Lord for justice and not trying to get it himself.
15 Paul advices Timothy to watch of for Alexander there are some that are just trouble makers for Christians and while they need Christ they just cause trouble for any one who shares Him with them, Alexander may have been one of these and while he needed to be saved it couldn’t undo the work of the Spirit for the rest of the church. There maybe people we have to be distant from to effetely serve the Lord.
